Renting a home in The Netherlands. House or apartment?

When you are thinking about renting a home in The Netherlands our Hakkenbroek team would be happy to assist you. We can scan the market, select, view and negotiate the perfect temporary residence for you. Wether you would prefer a house or an apartment.

1. Meeting

When you are in The Netherlands we can arrange a meeting at one of our offices to get a clear picture of your wishes. We discuss possibilities and best strategy towards our mutual goal. Should you not yet be able to visit us this part of the process can be performed by e-mail and telephone correspondance too of course.

2. Assignment

When for both you and we feel the chances for success are there we can start our cooperation for finding and renting a home in the Netherlands. We then set up an assignment to search a rental property, this will be sent to you for approval and signing.

3. Searching the market

Subsequently we present you an overview of all, both suitable ánd available rentals, with detailed relevant information.

4. Selection

Together we select the best options and for these properties we will arrange the appointments with the housowners or their agencies for the viewings.

5. Viewings

We accompany you at all viewings and discuss these afterwards with you to come to the best choice.

6. Mediation

Should you be interested in renting one of the visited houses we discuss your wishes and conditions. The negotiation will be started with the houseowner or his agent in order to achieve the best possible conditions for you.
As soon as a mutual agreement is reached all relevant information will be collected, you receive a letter of intent for signing and Hakkenbroek will set up or screen the contracts and assist you with the financial and practical side of the deal. Then you will be actually renting a homein the Netherlands!
We also attend when checking you in to the house or apartment. At this stage an inspection report with pictures is made of the state of the rented property.
At the end of the tenancy the check out will be arranged and the keys will be returned to the owner. During the full period of the lease we'll be your contact person.

Agency fee

When a tenancy agreement is concluded for one of the properties that have been suggested by and viewed with Hakkenbroek Housing Company, the Tenant will be due an agency fee, equal to one month's rent.
In case of an intermediate termination of the tenancy no restitution will be applicable.

Should a lease be established for a property that you visited via Hakkenbroek Housing Company a brokerage amount equal to one month's rent is due. We represent your interests in that case only as a tenant.

However, if you chose a house for which we have a mediation agreement with the owner, no commission will be due by you. In that case you will pay us only an amount to compensate for the work that we have done for you such as sightseeing tours, presentations, (translations of) contracts, handling etc.
We will inform you clearly before you (intend to) sign the lease about the costs that will be charged.

It is possible that a house -although presented on our site or found mentioning our name on another online platform- is offered without us representing the owner of the house; The purpose of this presentation is then to inform you as a tenant. Obviously, in that case the full commission is due by the tenant.

Fee is exclusive 21% BTW
